Reviews from travelers who stayed here in the last 12 months, grouped to help you spot the pattern quickly.
Reading reviews about this place on Google beforehand actually made me nervous about going here but as I've learned with other poor to OK-rated budget hotels, a lot of people expect something they inevitably were never going to get. We stayed in Victoria Studios for one night after attending a concert in London. General: - A lot of people comment on the poor attitude of the receptionist. The man at the reception was nice enough to me. No, he wasn't filled with smiles and enthusiasm (and how could he when his workspace is essentially a windowless broom closet) but he greeted me and explained everything politely. - If anything, overall the rooms are surprisingly nice for what they cost. You're paying £60-80 per night for a room in London, don't know what more people expect? - There are also a lot of comments about this place being in a dodgy neighbourhood. It's not. It's not a "nice" neighbourhood being next to a petrol station, busy road and massive warehouses but I also wasn't feeling unsafe at any point and we got back to the room after midnight. - The beds are quite hard which is either a pro or con depending on who you ask. Pros: - Although we barely utilised it, the kitchenette was a nice touch. I wish more hotelrooms in the UK came with a fridge / mini-fridge. - The bathroom was small but tidy. The shower was modern and worked just fine once you figure out how to control the temperature which admittedly wasn't immediately obvious. - Good location right next to bus stops and less than 5mins from Brent Cross West train station which will take you to Central London in 10mins. Cons: - We were fine due to visiting in November but as mentioned by other reviewers, the rooms have no AC and I can imagine how hot they'll get in the summer months. - Again, as mentioned in other reviews, the door handles could do with replacing. The handle inside our room would detach if we weren't very delicate with it when turning it. - The room would benefit from someone going around and removing the cobwebs. The room was otherwise tidy. - The remote for the telly didn't work no matter how hard I pressed the buttons and no matter what angle I tried to use it from. Would I stay here for more than 1 night? Maybe 2-3 at most. It's a nice hotel (or accommodation-style hotel) for a short stay and modern and tidy for what you're paying. For the same price in London you're more likely to get something that's got mold and bed bugs. It's a decent budget option. If you want something marvellous in London, be prepared to pay a lot more. Or, go stay outside of London.

Short, honest notes are more useful than long ones. A few sentences about what worked, what surprised you, and who the hotel is best for will go a long way.
